Rawan Elmuntaser, 23 years old, began her artistic journey as a contemporary art practitioner in 2014 focusing on abstract and conceptual art and photography, drawing inspiration from nature, photography, shadow and Color. In 2016 Rawan has curated a group exhibition “AURA” and also was one of the participating artists.

 

Later on Rawan focused on Calligraphy, she studied the Thuluth font, thats mainly associated with religious scripts. while keeping in parallel her interest and practice of abstract art. Her experimentation in arabic calligraphy and abstract art took to the combination of the two arts, Rawan attempted at keeping the letter’s form being displayed in an unfamiliar nature, she focused on modernizing arabic fonts and viewing them in a new light with ambiguous designs and unthought-of material.

 

In 2018 rawan participated in two exhibitions as a modern calligrapher: -Locally renowned Dwaya “Hurufiat” group Exhibition in held in Tripoli and “Edwi Fan” group art show organized by Tilwan organization
